VUE Software is backed by over 26 years of Insurance Industry experience and seeking several junior to mid-level Software Project Manager (not senior level) who are able to lead, manage, and supervise a team of 5-10 S/W developers and QA analysts, who are developing, maintaining, and testing high quality software, and supporting a diverse product line of web applications and sensors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the software development team.
  • Ensure software engineering processes and security engineering practices are followed.
  • Deliver finished, high quality, and compelling software products.
  • Build and lead development and testing projects supported by engineering personnel.
  • Work with product management team, support team, and professional services team to understand customer requirements and software issues.
  • Assist the management team in defining products’ direction, including in-depth engineering analysis of current and future software products.
  • Work closely with product managers to ensure results meet or exceeds customer requirements, including ensuring that product designs are documented and communicated.
  • Provide sound decision making for software engineering and product development, sensitive to the constraints and needs of the business.
  • Drive overall architecture, security and certifications of software products.
  • Manage the software engineering schedules to meet or beat deadlines.
  • Monitor technology trends such as emerging standards.
  • Develop and execute software engineering plans, schedules, and resource allocation including managing joint development with 3rd party vendors and outsourced development efforts.
  • Develop, document, and enforce software engineering processes to ensure reproducible high quality results within cost constraints.
  • Engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, design, and review of software developed in-house as well as technologies.
  • Provide employee development, teambuilding, coaching, and mentoring
  • Support employees by procuring and maintaining software tools, test equipment, and engineering lab resources
  • Some travel may be required to visit Clients in the Northeast and Midwest USA.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of one but no more than 10 years of Software Development Project Management experience.
  • PMP Certification helpful, but not required.
  • Insurance Industry experience preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Proficiency with MS Project and MS Visio preferred.
  • Experience managing development projects using an Agile development approach
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to create systems and user documents and similar documentation
  • Experience with high visibility projects, comfortable reporting status and issues to C level management
  • Experience managing all phases of the SDLC for application development efforts
  • Experience documenting business work flows and reengineering work flows to leverage new system and technology capabilities
  • Experience managing development projects using an Agile development approach

  • Our job openings are 6-month contracts with an opportunity to convert to Full-Time Perm with base Salary and Benefits.
